Group Guidelines

Group Size
Minimum of 10 children to qualify for group rates.

Ages
Our exhibits are designed for 0 to 10 year olds. Outreach programs serve children Pre-K through fifth grade. In-house programs serve children Pre-K through fifth grade.

Payment
The museum will send an invoice to the visiting organization or school to be paid within 30 days of your visit. The fee will be calculated based on the number of students that attend the field trip and your selected program.

Siblings
Due to safety and supervision requirements, siblings are not permitted on field trips. Adults supervising children outside the group are not considered chaperones. Siblings and adults outside the group must pay full price admission.

Safety
Adult chaperones are responsible for the supervision and safety of children at all times during your visit. If you need help with safety during your visit, talk to any staff member on the museum floor. Basic first aid supplies are available at the front desk. No adults are allowed in the Museum without children, and no children are allowed without adults.

Lunch
Please coordinate with our Education Director on lunch space arrangements.

Custom Programming

Requests for programs modified in content, length, or to fit other ages may be granted, and require a customization fee. Requests for programming must be made at least 3 weeks in advance. The capacity to be able to provide additional programming will be decided by the Education Director. Factors that may affect the ability to conduct special programming includes staff availability and event schedule for the week.



School Groups

Visit the museum with your students or let the museum come to you. Our exhibits and programs support Minnesota Academic Standards and are a fun and unique way to engage your class! Participate in hands on engineering, dinosaurs & paleontology, space & aeronautics, arts & crafts, and literacy programming.

Free Explore
Explore our museum’s existing exhibits and participate in daily programming options. Cost: $5.50 per student. Adults are always free with field trip admission.

Facilitated Experience
Participate in facilitated programming led by museum staff. Facilitated options include: Dinosaur Dig Investigation, NASA Space Curriculum, Engineering: Rosie Revere, Engineering: Paper Airplanes, Engineering: Paper Rockets, Kids Create! (Arts & Crafts), Books Alive! (Literacy Activities). Time is also set aside to explore our museum’s existing exhibits. Cost: $7.00 per student. Adults are always free with field trip admission.
