museum guest expectations
The Duluth Children's Museum is a delight-filled place where children and their caregivers learn and play together. To ensure all guests have a positive and safe experience, we expect our staff, volunteers and guests to act responsibly and be considerate of others as we share this space.
Children and adults must stay together. No adults are allowed in the Museum without a child, and no child without an adult. Adult guests are responsible for the supervision of their children at all times.
No food or drinks in the exhibits. No smoking/vaping on the Museum campus.
Shoes or socks are required in the Museum.
Use Museum equipment and exhibits safely and appropriately.
Pets are not allowed at the Museum. Service animals welcome.
We are a nut-free facility. Please be aware that food residue and allergenic substances may be present anywhere in the Museum. The Museum allows outside food and drink in our Learning Lab and request that guests do not bring food or drink into the exhibits. The safety of our guests is the Museum’s highest priority, and we are aware and sensitive to severe food allergies faced by some of our guests.

Offensive, abusive or threatening language or behavior toward other guests and/or Museum staff will not be tolerated. This includes hate language or symbolism, as well as wearing or otherwise displaying profane or obscene content on clothing or elsewhere on one’s person.

In addition to the rules stated above, the Museum does not tolerate any activity that threatens Museum operations, disrupts the ability to provide a safe, welcoming, family-oriented environment, or is illegal under city, state and/or federal law.
Museum staff reserves the right to refuse admission, revoke membership and/or remove any person for any reason without refund, including violating the Code of Conduct or exhibiting unsafe, inappropriate or disruptive behavior, or behavior likely to cause damage.
